Model Leu is a treatment method developed by Dr Michael Leu.
MODEL LEU has been tried and tested for years - even with very old patients.
The treatment is initiated in the morning under general anaesthetic.
The general anaesthetic usually lasts no longer than approx. 2 hours.
The patient receives the new teeth in the afternoon.

Minimal pain or swelling may occur - but very rarely.
Patients stay overnight in a hotel and return home the day after the treatment.

The reason for the absence of pain and swelling is the "Dr Leu pain and swelling management during general anaesthesia" discovered by Dr Leu.

Patients practically never take the medication given to them as a precaution after treatment.

A specially developed aftercare technique keeps a constant eye on the patient. Most patients report back after a few weeks - often with the same words: life has become great.
Aesthetic corrections to dentures are very rarely requested. Almost never in recent years.
For aesthetic and phonetic reasons, the patient consults two specially trained professionals before treatment begins:
Mrs Birch, a dentist, and Mrs Stella, a dental technician.

The new teeth are selected on the basis of old photographs, the shape of the skull and the colour of the skin.

MODEL LEU is particularly useful when the prognosis of the remaining teeth is doubtful or even hopeless.
Most patients for MODEL LEU have a premonition:

Something has to be done. Things can't go on like this. Probably not a single tooth can be saved. They all have to come out.

With the Model Leu, we place at least 4 implants immediately after the extractions. A few hours later, the patient receives a denture on these implants. This will ensure that the denture will sit firmly and stably on the implants and not on the wounds from the extraction.
The area around the implants (implant polygon area) increases with the number of implants that can be placed. The larger the polygon area, the greater the comfort when biting, chewing, eating and speaking, and the smaller the load on each individual implant. If there are more than four implants within a polygon, the possibility of incorrect loading after loss of an implant is minimised.

The advantages of MODEL LEU:

• The new dentures on the implants do not stress extraction wounds. These can heal undisturbed

• The treatment begins in the morning under general anaesthetic and is completed in the afternoon with the insertion of the dentures on the implants. This means that our staff specialising in MODELL LEU do not have to perform technical processes lasting several days. Everything is completed within about 8 hours. The patient can go home.

• In order to achieve this exceptional quality, we schedule a prosthodontist specialising in MODEL LEU (e.g. Dr Birch) in addition to the implantologist. Dr Birch is particularly eager to provide patients with individualised teeth. We also employ a master dental technician who specialises in the MODEL LEU technique (STELLA/FFM)

• Sometimes preliminary impressions are advisable before the general anaesthetic, if possible (nausea, gag reflex, very loose teeth, etc.).

• MODEL LEU is particularly low-risk with more than four implants per jaw

• Optimal hygiene capacity - you don't need dental floss

• Optimal phonetics - no sibilants and no spitting through interdental spaces

• Optimal aesthetics with regard to the appearance of the lips and cheeks

• Optimal aesthetic design options - also possible long after completion

• A palate-free upper denture can be designed after the upper jaw implants have healed at the latest

• MODEL LEU does not put any pressure on extraction wounds.

• The retention of the prostheses with MODEL LEU is very simple and can be varied cost-effectively from very light to very firm

• With MODEL LEU, the dentures remain in the mouth for ‘25 hours’. The dentures are only removed for oral, denture and implant hygiene with a simple electric toothbrush. The teeth are then immediately reinserted.

• If one implant out of 6 implants per jaw is lost, the stability of the denture is practically unaffected

• If one of 4 implants per jaw is lost, the stability of the other three implants is at risk

• The risk of losing everything after losing 6 implants is extremely low

• The dental prosthesis for MODEL LEU is not screw-retained on the implants!

• Screw-retained dentures harbour a number of very different problems with very unpleasant side effects:

  • Extremely difficult oral and implant hygiene due to the poorly accessible niches. Dental floss and interdental brushes are essential

  • Phonetic problems (hissing and spitting through implant tooth gaps)

  • Aesthetic problems (lips and cheeks are not supported as in nature)

  • Considerable dental + technical risks during fabrication. (Risk of having to repeat the impressions at a new appointment)

  • Constant stimulus for the tongue to abut the implant abutments
